Clasp Connection

In the category of "now why didn't I think of that?" comes Tammy Powley's clasp connection wire technique. I'm sitting here in front of the computer, slapping myself on the forehead and going "Duh!" Tammy is the incredibly capable jewelry making guide at About.com.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

You know, that was a duh moment for me too when I came up with it. I had a necklace that I had finish and it was shorter than I wanted it to be, and I also had some new toggle clasps that were soldered closed, so that's what made me think of the idea - what do they say about the mother of invention?

I've made extenders with a lobster claw on each end before, and they can be used to do kind of the same thing, but they don't give the piece a finished or professional look if you're going to want it to always be that longer length.
