Bead Journal Project: bracelet for February

I am really happy with how the Bead Journal Project is going for me this year.  I wasn't overly inspired last year, mostly because I didn't have enough time to devote to it.  This year is a different story, however.  Even though the pieces aren't taking me all that long to do, I'm really satisfied with how they're coming out.

Here's February's bracelet.  Last year, at the very end of February, I left a day job that had become a source of more challenge than I cared to face each day (that's the nicest way I can think of to phrase it, so please don't ask!).  Now on the one year anniversary of my emancipation, I have made a bracelet that symbolizes growth and change, with many of my very favorite colors.

How wonderful that you feel emancipated! I know the feeling -- working on my own schedule instead of someone else's. It shows in your lovely project which has my favorite colors too. Very, very nice. :)

Lovely bracelet, Cyndi. Did you paint the fabric?

Thanks guys! Yes, I forgot to even mention that the fabric was hand painted, and here's a tutorial I did on it:
Wiped and striped fabrics

Lovely idea. When my Father N law died..last Summer..I snapped some of his silk neck ties to do memorial pendants.
(Just a snippit of cloth.. close to the beaders heart..on the backside).

This bracelet idea would work well with that... Lovely idea.

I've seen some "slap" bracelets, too where you use a thin piece of metal underneath the embroidered cloth.

Getting "emancipated" is wonderful..too. Great for you!

Thanks for posting..(another wonderful project idea!!!)...

The spiral and "tree" of budding branches are perfect to show freedom, growth and celebration! What a beautiful, wearable bracelet you made! Wear it with great pride!

Good for you, Cyndi! I'm still waiting to get out of my "situation" at work, but you're an inspiration. The piece is beautiful!

I had similar thoughts as Robin when I looked at your bracelet. The spiral and vine symbolizing growth, perhaps in new directions. It's a lovely piece, and I hope it continues to provide encouragement to you as you move forward this year.
