Beaded polymer clay pendant

I start to panic each year as the month dedicated to polymer clay on Beading Arts looms!  I'm just never very happy with the polymer clay pieces that I make, and I always want to bring you something new, fun, and versatile.  Something that a beginner (like me) can make, but that an expert could enjoy just using as a starting point.  This year, thanks to some wildly talented people, I think I have found a few projects for you that won't require me to hang my head in shame!

This first one is my variation of Deborah Anderson's project, "Out on a Limb", which was featured in the January/February 2013 issue of Bead&Button.  Get ahold of this issue if you don't already have it...the technique is simple, but the results are stunning!  Deborah made leaves (hence, the title of the article), but I chose to use an impression of one of my many shells.

Polymer clay, wire, beads, Pearl Ex Powders, and two-part resin...lovely results!  You can catch up with Deborah on the Polymer Clay Central website, which lists the classes she teaches.
