Book review and giveaway: Vintage-Style Beaded Jewelry

Vintage Style Beaded Jewelry

Cico Books has reissued a lovely book by Deborah Schneebeli-Morrell, Vintage-Style Beaded Jewelry, which is now up to 35 pretty projects that use a range of widely available materials to create glamorous but inexpensive jewelry pieces for many occasions.  Broken china plates?  Make some cameo brooches!  Paper rosebuds?  Create a wedding tiara!  You get the idea...reuse and recycle.

I would say that all the projects are relatively easy, and you can do most of them with common tools that you probably already have (or you should!).  The nicest feature of this books isn't so much the techniques as the way Deborah gets you to look at items you already have as a jumping off point for fashioning something wonderful and new.

***Free Stuff Alert!!!***

Would you like to have a copy of this book?  Just leave me a comment below and you'll automatically be entered to win.  If you tweet or post on Facebook or other social spots about the contest, you can leave a second comment and be entered twice!

Please make sure that your link will lead me to an email address, or else I won't be able to contact you.  No contact, no win, and I simply have to go on to the next person.  Deadline: March 16, 2011.

Sounds like an awesome book - and one I might need, seeing as I have a hard time throwing odds and ends out because I think "maybe, just maybe!!!" I can use whatever it is to create something else later on.

I love vintage jewelry, except that once beads are gone, they are gone. Fortunately, the vintage styles I mourned are back again (sixties, Jackie-O stuff).
